The Portland Beardsmen will be there, so will a pair of llamas and a bag piper! And don’t forget good eats from popular Portland food carts: KOi Fusion, PBJ Grilled, Lardo, Savor the Chill and Pour Pour Coffee. A llama kissing booth, a beat my beard contest, a prize wheel and raffle, mustaches and beards on a stick (in case you don’t have your own), and more fun than you can shake a tail at are all part of the festivities at Petlandia hitting the Castaway event space in the Pearl this Saturday.
All proceeds from this unique event that celebrates our eclectic, fair city and the animals that enrich our lives benefit DoveLewis, the Northwest’s nonprofit 24-hour emergency & ICU animal hospital! A $25 ticket gets you entry into this Portland-esque carnival of fun and includes two scrumptious drinks poured by My Bartender.
Online registration for Petlandia closes on Thursday, March 7 at 5PM. But don’t fret, in true, last-minute Portland fashion, you can purchase tickets (space permitting) at the door the night of the event!

I don’t have a pet anymore (died of old age) :-( but would love to give back to the pet community and support this event.

So last December after living in PDX for 4 years, I unfortunately had to make use of Dove Lewis’ services for the first time for my 14 year old lab-chow, Foxy. As you can imagine, it’s never super rad to visit, and went two days in a row. BUT the second day they examined Foxy again free of charge, and all throughout that week as I was nursing her back to heath, their peeps calmed me down over the phone and gave me all kinds of free advice when I thought I’d lose my little old lady.
Dove Lewis really is a lifesaver and we’re lucky they’re in P-town. Did you know they even have a dog and cat blood bank?
Foxy is still a little wonky after the episode that brought her in there, but she’s happy and so much better. I’ve since vowed to have more fun and appreciate each day, and I really can’t think of a better way than BEARDS ON A STICK!
