Bollywood at the Hollywood!

Anjali continues her series of classic Bollywood film screenings at the Hollywood Theatre with a one-night showing of the original SHOLAY from 1975 starring Amitabh Bachchan Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Jaya Bhaduri, Amjad Khan & of course an item number from Helen, Queen of the Nautch Girls

One of Bollywood’s most famous films, it catapulted Bachchan into super stardom. In addition to being the hit film of the 70′s, it is often said to be Bollywood’s biggest money maker.

An incredibly entertaining masala flick, as well as the first curry western, it of course comes with a classic soundtrack from the one & only R.D. Burman.
Masala Pop will be serving up a tasty, Indian-spiced popcorn snack mix handcrafted in Portland, Oregon.

It’s an understatement to call this a classic.
Amjad Khan’s performance as the villain had the impact that Heath Ledger has right now.
And it was his debut o_O

Anjali’s Bollywood nights are some of the most fun movie nights in the city! I’d love to go to this one because, as the trailer explains, only an iron cuts an iron.

I’d love to see this classic as it’s meant to be seen, on a big screen.

You should pick me because I’m an Indian! *

*Feather, not dot, but that’s unimportant for the purposes of winning me some tickets!
