Join Cooky Parker in looking back on the last 5 decades of dance music! He’s enlisted the help of two of Portland’s finest club DJs, Nathan Detroit and Freaky Outty. As the duo “Holla and Oates”, these two work well with one another in the art of shaking that rump.

The theme for this latest installment of “50-A possible history of dance music” features the summer jam as an inspiration. Think Sly, the Artist, all manner of the boogie and the funk, plenty of rap jams, a healthy dose of modern club and whatever else makes the grade. Basically, all you need for a stellar night out with your friends on the dance floor in the height of summer. Look for a special set of Cooky Parker edits made specifically for the night!

I believe such an event should be punctuated with a riveting round of popping it followed by locking it thusly with the inevitable decision to drop it.

i’ve some ladies coming to town, and they would love to get down, in the world-renown, dance-floor bound, holocene hollowed ground.

My Dad had albums from the 60s and then my sisters started adding music from the 70s. I started dancing with them in the livingroom. What a fun night it will be to dance to music from all the decades. And free tickets would be icing on the cake!
