The 2013 edition of the Bite of Oregon is truly a milestone year as we celebrate its 30th birthday!
Our theme this year is Celebrating Oregon’s Bounty and in this regard, Oregon has much to boast about. Of course we will have an assortment of savory and sweet food offerings to satisfy your palate with our wide array of restaurants, food carts, dessert purveyors and of course, more than 20 flavors of Oregon craft beer and 20 Oregon wineries. Food prices vary from vendor to vendor. Price range for restaurants, food carts and dessert vendors are from $2-$9 per item.
Our newest component this year is the Oregon Bounty Chef’s Table. We are proud to be partnering with five of the Oregon Agricultural Commissions who will be featuring a variety of locally grown and produced products. The various Commissions will be joining forces with Pro Chef’s Oregon a non-profit chapter of the American Culinary Federation comprised of chefs, and students dedicated to the profession of food preparation. Collectively, they will be preparing some delectable bites featuring Oregon seafood, beef, blackberries & raspberries, potatoes, and blueberries. Yum!
Come help us celebrate and enjoy some of Oregon’s magnificent culinary bounty! Renown as Oregon’s premier culinary festival, this three day event features an abundance of mouth watering menu items offered by some of Oregon’s culinary finest. Whether it’s sampling a multitude of small plates or enjoying a meal sized portion, the choices are varied, delicious and plentiful!
And perhaps the best part is that the Bite of Oregon is a fund raiser for Special Olympics Oregon. With 10,000 participants, Special Olympics Oregon offers 40 Olympic-type sports during their summer and winter state games.
The 2013 MIX Wine Pavilion will once again feature a wide variety of wineries representing the diverse micro-climate regions of Oregon. Wineries are located under the cool shade trees of the Waterfront Park adjacent to Oregon Chef Stage with spectacular views of the Willamette River. Sample some great wines and listen to the sounds from some talented local musicians. Enjoy outstanding Oregon Pinots, Chardonnays, Cabernets, Merlots, and many other wines that will tease your palate. See the complete wine & cider list at biteoforegon.com.
Enjoy a variety of local entertainment at the 2013 Bite of Oregon. At the Dining Out In The NorthWest Chef’s Stage Presented By FSA culinary creations abound featuring both local Oregon Chefs and National Celebrity Chefs. Two music stages located at opposite ends of the festival will entertain and delight while you eat, drink and relax on the beautiful Portland Waterfront. See the full schedule of entertainment at biteoforegon.com.
