Mt. Tabor Park
(Picnic area A near the bathrooms / amphitheater)
SE 60th Ave & Salmon St, Portland
It’s early August. You’ve already run all the fun Spring events in town. You just did the Foot Traffic Flat half out on Sauvie Island. Now you’re bored because there are no more cool local events to do around town until Run Like Hell, right? Wrong!
The Mt. Tabor Doggie Dash takes place Sunday, August 11th and is a great event for everyone! No dog neccessary. Just bring yourself or some friends and take part in one of the coolest events around, in one of Portland’s most amazing parks! It is truly the coolest Summer running event in town. Partly because it takes place on shady tree lined roads within the park, but also because there is great music, tasty beer and yummy food after the event!
Bring everyone for this fun, family-friendly event! Event benefits Autism Service Dogs of America.
AFTER RACE PARTY / LIVE MUSIC / FOOD / BEVERAGE:
This fun and relaxing party takes place in the park at picnic area A near the basketball courts (see map on our website). Come lounge on the grass and listen to some great music while sipping on a couple of Lagunitas brews (over 21) or root beer (under 21) and eating some delicious post race food (all included in entry fee).
There is also fruit / bread and other tasty treats from several of our great sponsors! The after race party is free for all to attend. However, only participants will receive the goodies FREE at the party.
CLOTHING CHECK-IN / BIKE VALET AT THE EVENT:
There is a clothing check and bike valet at this event. We use organic cotton bags for this instead of plastic bags and we re-use them so please be sure to help keep costs down and return them to us. Your bib # will match up with the numbers we have printed on the bag / bike. To protect your belongings, only the person wearing the bib with the matching # will be allowed to retrieve the belongings in the bag or the bike.
DOGS / PETS IN THE EVENT:
Bring your pups along for this dog-friendly event!
JOGGING STROLLERS IN THE EVENT:
Jogging strollers are permitted in this event. However, we ask that you be respectful to the other participants and please start toward the back.
IPODS / MP3 PLAYERS:
All of our events are music player friendly. However, please be aware that you still need to be conscious of your surroundings which include your fellow participants, emergency vehicles, and the random vehicle that may be on the course.
HOW TO GET THERE / CARPOOL / PARKING / TRANSPORTATION:
As always with an event like this, parking is VERY limited. Because all of the roads inside the park are closed for the race, the only parking is outside of the park or on the roads leading into the park. PLEASE CARPOOL or take Public transportation!!! Please go to TriMet.org to find out the best Public transportation routes. You can go to our Help Us Be Green page to find links to Portland Bike routes.
RACE TIMING / RESULTS:
This event is timed by Rogue Mulit-Sport using timing chips.
You can find results on our results page.
