Portland World Cup Watch Parties + Schedule, Food & Drink Specials

World-Cup-2014-Brazil-logoThe 2014 World Cup begins tomorrow, June 12th, with host-country Brazil taking on Croatia at 1PM PST. The tournament will end on July 13 with the championship game in Rio de Janeiro. The United States plays its first game on Monday, June 16th vs Ghana at 3PM PST.

Portland is known as Soccer City, USA and there will be many bars, theaters, coffee shops, etc showing the games! This is also the first time since 1994 that the games take place in American time-zones, so the excitement will be even larger than usual here in PDX!

Below is the full schedule, which will be updated as teams advance to the later rounds. All 64 World Cup matches will be broadcast live on ABC and ESPN/ESPN2. You can also watch online with the “Watch ESPN

From June 12 through July 13, Bazi will be operating under expanded hours catering to the World Cup soccer fans. The matches on this list (Bazi World Cup Schedule) will be played with sound on the 114” HDTV big screen with the exception of (Brazil vs Cameroon and Portugal vs Ghana which will be broadcasted on the 52″ Bar HDTV due to overlap with other matches).

  • Mornings: A limited breakfast menu with drink specials representative of the teams playing from around the globe (e.g. Shandy for England, Sangria for Spain, Caipirihna from Brazil, etc.).
  • Mid-Day: Happy Hour will commence at opening time on NOON and 1 PM matches

The countdown to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil continues as Thirsty Lion prepares for a packed house of global soccer fans and one of the world’s greatest tournaments. Cartlandia will be showing all the World Cup games Live in The Blue Room Bar, a new venue just opened in April offering specials for the whole world Cup experience. Open 8 am – 2:30 am for World cup. $4 pints of craft beer during games and a special of burger, fries and a beer for $10 all month. Designed by a professional soccer player, The Blue Room Bar has 5 big screen TVs , 18 taps, full cocktail menu, performance space, and collection of soccer memorabilia. It was built with classic materials salvaged from an 1910 bar, 1860’s church, and a Portland pipe organ.
