Gravity of Center is a multi-sensory exploration of the mysterious and universal forces that bind us all.

Without gravity, life itself could not exist. Yet, gravity limits all we do. Even light must bend to its will. Using this paradox as our departure point, “Gravity of Center” first spirals outward on a journey through time and space, then turns inward on a voyage to the human heart.

We begin in the physical realm, exploring concrete and tangible concepts like mass, force, acceleration, inertia, entropy and electromagnetism. Soon, though, we move to the ephemeral, discovering the sacred and immeasurable forces of human connection; sensuality and spiritual transcendence.

Quixotic | Gravity of Center from Quixotic on Vimeo.

Pushing the limits of body and mind, Gravity of Center illustrates that creative expression is the vehicle through which we ask unanswerable questions. By defying the limits of the human body, expanding the capacity of the human heart, and bending the very rules of physics, Gravity of Center turns a fundamental force of nature into a canvas for the projection of human aspiration. Unveiling the creative essence of gravity, the show challenges our perceptions of the possible.

“Quixotic is a creative force that master evoking emotion out of their audiences, using multimedia and movement. With a unique sound and original visuals, they are on their way to becoming the most sought after company for Multi-media entertainment.”

– Mukhtar Omar Sharif Mukhtar | Creator / Director | One Drop Cirque Du Soleil

———-

Based in Kansas City, Quixotic was given Silicon Valley’s unofficial stamp of genius when they were invited to perform at the global TED Conference in 2012. A unique blend of projection mapping, artistic dance, aerialists, musicians and specialty acts, Quixotic fuses all these elements in to what the New York Times branded an “innovative circus performance,” and Men’s Journal declared “one of the best contemporary [cirque] acts.” They have performed for audiences worldwide and have helped launch brand products for companies such as IBM, Qatar Airlines and Bulgari.

The group performed in Cirque du Soleil’s One Night for One Drop special in Las Vegas in 2015. The show was dedicated to raising awareness of water issues worldwide and spotlighting artists who Cirque believes are some of the best and brightest working today.
