OPS has been a staple of the Portland theatre community going on 11 years now. Over the past several seasons, we’ve slowly spread our wings out to communities outside of the Rose City: Vancouver, McMinnville, and even the Oregon Coast. None of that remotely compares, though, to what OPS is doing this weekend. This Sunday, May 3rd, OPS is joining forces with a company all the way from London, Shake-Scene Shakespeare, to perform a bi-national production of The Merry Wives of Windsor! Casting has been divided evenly between the two companies, so come and see some of your OPS favorites cut it up with professionals straight out of Shakespeare’s adopted home! Join us at 11 AM PDT on our Facebook page for what will truly be a show to remember. We’ll see you there!

OPS is gearing up for our First Night performances, which, for the first time ever, will be taking place entirely online! What is a First Night, you ask?

King Lear
Back in Shakespeare’s day, the first night of any new play was an extravagant affair. The actors were completely unfamiliar with the play, not having rehearsed or even read it beforehand, so the audience knew that hijinks were sure to follow! Elizabethan audiences paid double to see a First Night, but since we can’t double zero, we’re doubling the performances, instead!

Join us on our Facebook page Saturday, May 16th, at 7 PM PDT, and/or Saturday, May 23rd, at 2 PM PDT for the first full look at our newest tragedy!
