October 16: Old Town Computers 4th Anniversary party FREE All ages show w/THE ROBINSONS, THE GOLDEN BEARS, THE POLLY HIGH PROJECT
OLD TOWN COMPUTERS 4 YEAR ANIVERSARY PARTY AT BACKSPACE! FREE SHOW FEATURING THE ROBINSONS (VIVA VOCE/BLUE GIANT), THE GOLDEN BEARS,
THE POLLY HIGH PROJECT
In October of 2005, a man with a dream started a modest enterprise. When he started, he had no idea how many people he would touch in such a profound way. All he had was a dream. That man was Fred Figglehorn, YouTube sensation, and anyone over the age of 11 would like him dead. But it's okay, because Old Town Computers opened their doors that month as well, and they're still around, so I guess there's balance in the universe.
WHAT BETTER WAY TO CELEBRATE THAN TO FEATURE THE MUSICAL STYLINGS OF LOCAL ROCKERS THAT RECORD ON OLD TOWN COMPUTERS CUSTOM BUILT BOXES?
After 4 years of providing the best computer support to the good folks of Portland, Old Town Computers, a full service PC and Mac service shop is celebrating by throwing a free, all ages show on Friday, October 16th.
THE ROBINSONS are Kevin and Anita, better known as 1/2 of Viva Voce & Blue Giant, the force behind the Amore!Phonics record label. Their musical endeavors have been described by The Willamette Week as, “…so good they could save the world”. After a rare preview of The Robinsons at MFNW, it will be a great to see them perform as a duo again in a more intimate setting.

TE GOLDEN BEARS are taking a break from the studio to treat Portland to a round of live shows. Their 2008 release Wall to Wall, also on Amore!Phonics, was characterized by the Portland Mercury as “breathtakingly good.”

THE POLLY HIGH PROJECT is the project of Portland indie-folk artist Karen Page. Poptomorrow.com describes Page's music as, “Close enough to mainstream pop to be widely consumed, yet sandy enough to give the middle finger to such the thought”.
