Celebrate Mocktober with Favorite Show, a monthly Portland comedy showcase! Another night of amusement and audacity is just around the bend. This month, prepare yourself for the spontaneous and brilliant Don Frost, whose unique brand of comedy has devastated audiences all over the country. As if that wasn't enough, also taking the stage will be comics Veronica Heath, Cody Cooper, Shane Torres, and Shawn Fleek; sweet-as-peaches song stylist Katie Jean Arnold; and awesome videos from Decision Makers Penthouse (featured on Late Night with Conan O'Brien). Hosted by Whitney Streed.

Doors of Urban Grind East (2214 NE Oregon St.) swing wide open at 8 pm on October 17. Come in a costume (because ridiculous is the reason for the season) and pay only $3! All those choosing to not get dressed up shall be allowed in for $5.

Favorite Show is a really fun multimedia comedy showcase that features established and up-and-coming talent in the world of Portland comedy, all in the noble pursuit of an enjoyable and amusing Saturday night (third one of every month!).  Every show is all about an eclectic array of humorous offerings, including but certainly not limited to stand-up, videos, music, sketch, improv, readings, and phone calls to absent friends of audience members.

Past shows have included stand-up from comic and author Kevin Wilson, comic Andy Wood (founder of the Bridgetown Comedy Festival), comic Rylee Newton (seen on Comedy Central), comic Richard Bain and his videos with Decision Makers Penthouse (recently featured on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien"), comic/dj/artist Danny Norton and his videos with Extra Medium, videos from Cinema Queso (recent 48-Hour Film Festival honorees), and readings from Backfence PDX's Frayn Masters and local Bizarro author Mykle Hansen (Help! A Bear is Eating Me!).
