The Surprise Summer Sensation TREK IN THE PARK
Returns for the next installment!
After an incredible summer of providing free live performances of the classic Star Trek episode "Amok Time", the homegrown theater company, Atomic Arts, returns to Woodlawn Park for the next installment in their five year Star Trek journey for Portland audiences. This time Trek in the Park presents the iconic episode: SPACE SEED.
Favorites from last year's cast return to reprise their roles: Artistic Director Adam Rosko as Captain James T. Kirk, Jesse Graff as Mr. Spock, Paul Pistey as Dr. "Bones" McCoy, and Dana Thompson as Lieutenant Uhura. New additions to the cast include local actor Benja Barker, Nate Ayling as the hilarious Chief Montgomery Scott, one of Portland's top radio stars: Bobby "Fatboy" Roberts of pdx.fm's "Cort and Fatboy Show" and Margaux Hash as Lt. Marla McGivers. Additionally, last year's Chekov, Ryan Castro, will star as the legendary character of Khan Noonien Singh.
Witness as they present the fascinating story of Khan, a creation of genetic human perfection from the twentieth century, discovered and rescued by Enterprise crew as he seduces the ship's historian Lt. Marla McGivers and terrorizes Captain Kirk and his crew. Will this be the last generation for the U.S.S. Enterprise?
All the elements of last year's stylistic production will return as the ensemble members of Atomic Arts create hand made Starfleet costumes, Vulcan ears and hairdo for Mr. Spock and authentic set pieces. Peter Dean will return to provide a live musical score for the entire production run. Be sure to arrive early for the best seating in Woodlawn Park's amphitheater with your families and picnic lunches as seating is free and open to all ages. Performance dates are Saturdays/Sundays July 10-August 1 at 5:00pm in the amphitheater at Woodlawn Park at the corner of NE Claremont and Oneonta.
And most of all…
Boldly go!
