February 26th, 2012 marks the 84th Annual Academy Awards. The Hollywood Theatre and Fleur de Lethal Cinematheque invite you to a lively and lovely party with a live broadcast on the 50ft screen.
Hosted by Portland’s Funniest Person” Ian Karmel and Miss Nico Bella of Fleur de Lethal Cinematheque, Oscars @ The Hollywood is just as much about audience participation as it is the ceremony. Party-goers are encouraged to dress to the nines ( or in costume) for our “red carpet” and duck in to our VIP ( Very Important Photo) Booth hosted by Robbie Augsperger http://www.robbieaugspurger.com/ .
The audience will select best dressed/best themed costume and brave attendees can enter the” Statuette Roulette” . If your name is drawn during a commercial break you will have 1 minute to deliver the acceptance speech you have been practicing for years. Winners will be rewarded with treasures,treats and movie passes from The Hollywood and Fleur de Lethal.
A 4 hour broadcast can lead to thirsty and hungry attendees so we have invited Portland favorites Violetta, al Forno Ferruzza Pizza and Voodoo Donuts to create a pop-up “food court” and a special Oscar themed bar helmed by Ryan Brentley will also be serving themed craft cocktails. Glamorous Fleur de Lethal usherettes will be on hand to take and deliver orders to your seats so you won’t miss a glitz-packed minute.
Fill out a Hollywood Theatre Oscar Ballot and turn it in before the broadcast. The ballots will be tallied in the week following the broadcast and the most correct predictions will win prizes from our marvelous sponsors including a luxurious gift package from our friends at Hotel DeLuxe!
This event is free to the public. However, for those interested in a more “Red Carpet” experience we have released a VIP ticket for 25.00 to benefit The Hollywood Theatre. This ticket includes: reserved seating,your choice of a small pizza from Al Forno Ferruzza ( or for you burger lovers 5.00 off your Violetta order) a selection from our Oscar cocktail menu,an entry ballot for our “predict the winner” sweepstakes and a few other surprises.
