Annual Fremont Fest celebrates community Saturday, August 7, 2010
Portland, Oregon, July 6, 2010. On Saturday, August 7th, 2010 the Beaumont-Wilshire Neighborhood Fremont Fest returns to celebrate community, neighbors, friends, and summer. A Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood staple, the Fremont Fest is one of Portland's most beloved neighborhood street festivals, featuring a day of multifaceted activities that celebrate the eclectic Beaumont-Wilshire community and surrounding residential neighborhoods.
Held annually the first Saturday in August, the event draws thousands of people to shop, eat, drink, mingle, groove, and enjoy all that the Beaumont-Wilshire Neighborhood has to offer. 41st and 50th Avenues on NE Fremont in Portland will be alive with activity from 10 am until the evening. Live music on three stages throughout the day will provide plenty of music for dancing.
Artistic highlights include craft and art booths, street performers, local bands, wacky decorated art cars, salsa challenge, cake walk, and pub crawl. To kick off of the day's festivities, join our Kid and Pet parade, filled with darling children on decorated bikes and our neighborhood's adorable pets! Parade starts at 10 am from the Beaumont Middle School parking lot. We look forward to seeing you at the Fremont Fest!
