A group of diverse local artists have come together to create a unique forum to celebrate their work and connect with local art enthusiasts. Guests will discover a varied assortment of jewelry, paintings, collages, pottery, greeting cards, clothing, and many other handcrafted treasures. The Give Good Art Holiday Sale will take over Mississippi Studios on Sunday, December 5th from 11:00-4:00. Cash preferred, checks and credit cards accepted by select vendors. ATM on site.

Why subject yourself to the crazed holiday shopping scene, when you can buy one-of-a-kind, locally handcrafted goodness and enjoy a cocktail from Bar Bar? You're sure to find something for everyone on your list. It really is the most delightful shopping experience around town. The good folks at Mississippi Studios/Bar Bar are in the holiday giving mood as well; treat yourself to happy hour pricing while you get your art on. Enjoy 16 ounce drafts at a mere $3.00, plus specialty house cocktails and wine for $5.00. For every art purchase made you'll receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a pair of tickets to see Helio Sequence on New Year's Eve.

About the Artists

  • Nikki McFerren offers a selection of original oil paintings and collages, inspired by classical Renaissance art.   • Sean McFerren masterfully creates bold, yet fluid abstract paintings in vivid hues. Pieces range in size from small canvases to larger pieces that make a perfect focal point to any room.
  • Corby Barnes & Amy Honeyman are the ladies behind Otto Designs. They make playful, funky jewelry for all ages using mostly recycled game pieces from your favorite childhood games. All images come from recycled books, magazines and paper.
  • Bomb Shelter by Molly Bailen offers simple, innovative and humorous designs on bumper stickers, t-shirts and panties, made for the cheeky and unpretentious consumer. Molly also accepts custom requests.
  • Caitlin Lash creates hand-sewn and classically inspired jewelry and accessories, integrating feathers and beadwork to produce a variety of textures. They are unique statement pieces for day or evening wear.
  • Nicole Curcio produces a series of hand-thrown ceramic bowls, platters and vessels of all sizes. Simple, elegant designs, inspired friends gardens. All pieces are functional and food safe.   • Consu Tolosa offers an assortment of paintings and Mixed-media assemblages.

  • Laura Berrutti is a mostly self-taught jewelry maker from Uruguay, who now makes her home in Portland.   • Allie B. Studios created a unique line of jewelry through a metal-smithing technique called electroforming. The process is similar to plating, where copper growth is encouraged over an existing form.
