Burgerville/OMHF Scholarship Performance feat. Michael Hermes
Friday, February 10
6-8 p.m. | FREE | All Ages
@ Burgerville, 1122 SE Hawthorne Blvd.
Oregon Music Hall of Fame and Burgerville are pleased to announce a concert by child prodigy, guitarist Michael Hermes on Friday February 10th at the Hawthorne location. This is a benefit event with a percentage of the food and beverage sales going directly to the Oregon Music Hall of Fame Scholarship fund.
Burgerville and OMHOF have sponsored this concert series at various locations since 2009, and the sponsorships have helped fund the 30 scholarships given to high school music students as they enter college programs.
Michael Hermes is a gifted 11-year old multi-instrumentalist and composer, playing electric & classical guitar, piano and keyboard. His music is an eclectic blend of Hans Zimmer, Jeff Beck, Segovia, Paul Gilbert and Frank Zappa. He is in 5th grade at Scouters Mountain in Happy Valley and attends Portland School of Rock. He started playing the guitar at the age of 6 and has studied under Steve Adams and dreams of becoming a famous composer and guitar player.
