For Stumptown Stories “First Ladies of Jazz” talks, we will be looking at the lives, careers, and recorded legacies of four women who set the gold standard for jazz singing during the swing, bebop, and post-bop eras – Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Dinah Washington. Sarah and Dinah will be the focus for our second talk.
