PIECES (1982) A chainsaw wielding maniac is dismembering his victims and keeping the parts! Hard boiled actor Christopher George seems to have wandered into the wrong movie, and plays a detective trying to solve the puzzling case. Before long, the increasingly strange situations and inane dialogue begin to raise to mind blowing levels. Toss in the graphic violence and a freakazoid kung fu professor, and you have one of the most entertaining horror films of all time! “You don't have to go to Texas for a chainsaw massacre!”
Saturday January 23rd at 11:30 pm
TORSO (1973) Sergio Martino's Giallo masterpiece! A mysterious black gloved killer is on the loose, killing young women at an Italian university. The bodies and suspects begin to pile up, so a group of beautiful women put on their miniskirts and head to an isolated villa to escape the carnage. When the psychosexual killer shows up at the villa, the movie suddenly switches gears and kicks into suspense overdrive. An incredible soundtrack, stylish cinematography, a hacksaw, and non-stop nudity make this one of the best Italian horror/suspense films of the 1970's.

BURIAL GROUND: NIGHTS OF TERROR (1981) The king of the Italian zombie gut munchers. A group of vacationers visit an old isolated manor. However, a professor has recently opened a crypt on the property, unleashing a horde of vicious zombies! Time for the blood to flow and the guts to spill. Also, in the strangest casting decision in cinema history, a thirtysomething young man plays a ten year old child with an Oedipus complex. Extreme sleaze, gruesome gore, and Italian weirdness run rampant, all accompanied by a groovy synthesized soundtrack.
Saturday February 6th at 11:30 pm
DEMONS (1985) A cinematic adrenaline rush about an infestation of demons in a movie theater served up by Dario Argento and Lamberto Bava. A lone group of humans are mysteriously trapped in the old theater with their situation somehow linked to the movie onscreen. As the demons start to multiply, the dwindling human group becomes greatly outnumbered, and hope begins to slip away…it's a good thing there's that motorcycle and samurai sword on display in the lobby.
Saturday February 13th at 11:30 pm
CREEPERS (1985) Directed by horror-maestro Dario Argento! A young Jennifer Connelly stars as a boarding school student with sleepwalking problems and an ability to telepathically communicate with insects. She teams up with a professor (Donald Pleasance) who is investigating a serial killer operating in the area. But before long, the killer is after them. This movie features three things that take it to a higher level: the creepy Argento atmosphere, the soundtrack by Goblin and Iron Maiden, and a chimpanzee out for revenge with a straight razor.
Please note that this series will be taking place at CINEMA 21: 616 NW 21st Ave. All information is on the website: www.grindhousefilmfest.com
