Someday Lounge and friends of Scotland Barr present the first annual Carnivale Americana: an Americana mini-fest dedicated to raising money for the Human Solutions "Homeless Families Warming Center" — a place for homeless people with children to sleep when it's cold outside.
This event is in honor of Scotland Barr. We are proud to welcome the return of The Slow Drags, Scotland Barr's band. They will be performing a set on day one of Carnivale, featuring some new songs and some old songs in honor of Scott.
This is an all-star lineup of Portland's most accredited Americana musicians from both the folk/country and folk/rock sides of the fence. Joining us will be local folk legends Mike Coykendall of the Old Joe Clarks, Brian Berg of 44 Long, as well as Rob Bonds/Highway, Steve Wilkinson of Mission 5, Rob Stroup & The Blame, The Redeemed (Former Haymaker leader Steve Lockwood's project), Casey Neill doing a duo set with Little Sue, and up-and-coming super band Tango Alpha Tango.
The Slow Drags are still in the studio trying to complete their unfinished album that was half done when they lost Scotland. Someday Lounge will provide fans the opportunity to make cash donations toward the completion of the final Scotland Barr & The Slow Drags record.
