Party in the Park, brought to you by the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District, is a daylong festival of fun and free activities for people of all ages.  It's Saturday, July 31, at THPRD's main recreation complex at 158th & Walker Road, Beaverton.

Most activities start at 10 a.m. or later.  For kids, there are more giant inflatables than ever before, climbing walls, face and hair painting, and arts and crafts as well as magic, theater and music.  Pony rides, a huge hit last year, are back.

For adults, there's The Classic at T-Hills show of collector cars, trucks and motorcycles (exhibitor fee; viewing is free), while the Fabulous Farelanes will play rock and roll music of the ‘50s and ‘60s.  Kids and parents can participate together in the Family Triathlon (participant fee; viewing is free).  And everyone loves the Beaverton Police K-9 Unit demonstration.

Other activities feature free swimming and sports demonstrations as well as no charge on many drop-in sports such as basketball, volleyball, badminton and table tennis.  Food and beverages will be for sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
