Profile:
Jonathan Guy Cruz, aka DO-KNOCK, is probably the world's most entertaining B-Boy. He won the US American Star Search show 3 times in the years 2003 and 2004. He has undeniable stage presence and exudes charisma.  Having traveled the entire world dancing, winning multiple events and accolades, Do Knock not only is an entertainer, he is a well-respected veteran of battling.  His first trip to Portland for Ashes 2 Ashes was a let down due to a groin injury so he is excited to come back this time around to really give his fans what they missed out on the first time – a great show!

Profile:
JD Rainey aka B-Boy Twixx is known for his explosive energy. He likes to surprise the audience. One minute he is down on the floor and in the blink of an eye he's harnessing his boundless energy and exploding up in the air.
Twixx is a member of the famous Massive Monkees crew. He loves his crew and says they are the reason he dances the way he does. They educated him on real style and dance ability. The Massive Monkees' recipe for success is their chemistry as a crew. They have won many prestigious titles all over the world, including the World B-Boy Championships at Wembley Arena in London in 2004. However, they know that it takes more than winning battles to be successful, as they've shown their versatility by choreographing performances that offer a visually stunning mix of routines and solo sets. They've performed with artists including LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Slick Rick, De La Soul, Nas, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Ludacris, Jurassic 5, Atmosphere, Immortal Technique, Beyoncé, and Alicia Keys.

This will be his first appearance at The Foundation.

For the past 10 years, The Foundation has been the premier northwest street dance competition. The event is held in Portland, OR (previously at Reed College) and has averaged 1000+ spectators and competitors from OR, CA, WA, FL, TX, and Vancouver BC annually.  It was originally, strictly a b-boy (breakdance) battle but has expanded to include themed hip-hop choreography showcase battles.  Competitors in the choreography battles will have the opportunity to perform two of their own pieces and one themed piece dedicated to MJ and one more dedicated to Kid N Play.  The breakin' crew battles will be minimum 5 members and maximum 8 members and follow a elimination style battle format.  This year, the hip-hop choreo competition will be maximum 10 members and minimum 5.  The winner takes home $1000.00 in cash and prizes for each category.

With world class talent such as DJ Magneto (XLR8R), Ohmega Watts, Skeme Richards (Rock Steady Crew) and competitors that include SUPERCR3W, Skill Methodz (from the movie Step Up #2) and Massive Monkees gracing the stage in previous years, the battle has built and maintained a loyal following.  Thanks to the move to Bossanova, the 10-year anniversary expects an attendance of over 2500+ over the course of two days.

The entire competition will be lived streamed online — visit www.foundationpdx.com for more information.  The event is all ages with a full bar for those 21 and over.
