The third annual Energy Trust Better Living Show www.betterlivingshow.org will be held Friday, March 26 through Sunday, March 28, 2010, at the Portland Expo Center.
Free to the public, this fun and entertaining three-day festival is designed to empower attendees to become more thoughtful consumers and lessen their impact on the environment by learning about high-performance, earth-friendly products and services. This is one of the largest gatherings of sustainably-minded people nation-wide, with more than 20,000 attendees and 300 exhibiting companies last year.
Along with specific home-improvement vendors, the show is packed with ideas and information in the lifestyle, home and garden, transportation, food and beverage, clean technology and conservation sectors.
Experiences include:
•Â      Check out Energy Trust's Good Energy House to see the latest in energy conservation and solar technologies for the home and eye-popping, earth-friendly landscapes.
•Â      Take in four beautiful and distinctly different garden landscapes, and learn how to turn your yard or patio into a private oasis.
•Â      Learn from the experts about everything from solar energy and climate change to raising chickens, and greening the holidays at the sustainability seminars, sponsored by Oregon State University.
•Â      Savor the entertaining cooking activities and learn about making healthy choices on the NW Natural Kitchen Stage.
•Â      Watch sustainable fashion shows, live music and exciting presentations on the SustainableLife stage.
•Â      Enjoy local and organic beer and wine with friends and sample foods from around the Northwest.
•Â      Visit the kids' activity area, sponsored by Portland General Electric, where children can interact with nature and learn how to care for the environment.
