Friendly Fire 2010: A Triple Threat Bus Benefit!!!
Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 4PM – 4AM
At Refuge 116 SE Yamhill
This family-friendly fun(d) raiser is a gift to the community and will benefit three busses with one fantastic event! Come as your favorite super hero or super side kick. All ages are welcome until 8:30pm, and then 21 and over with ID.
Friendly Fire will feature kids activities and games (4-8:30pm), delicious food, a silent auction of goods and services, and three busloads of entertainment. March Fourth Marching Band will lead the way with two shows. Rose City Vaudeville is set to thrill and delight the masses. The TRIFECTA (SOLOVOX, GlobalRuckus & Manoj) is ready to rock your socks off. And a full line up of DJ's and performers will take the stage until the wee hours of the morning. Stunning visuals, light show and a fire show will captivate the imagination.
The Mobile Groove Bomb started life serving the Portland metro area as a TriMet city bus running the Burnside route for 20 plus years. She is now a beacon of community collaboration, providing transportation, smiles and grooves to all who climb a aboard. The MGB is in need of crucial repairs and the installation of a V-8 engine to replace the too small V-6. For the love of the bus, because the bus is a must!
Lodekka Rose a 1961 British double decked bus, is the Rose City Vaudeville bus. Donated after silently sitting on Fisherman's Warf in Seattle, she is ready to begin a new life as a mobile venue for performance art of all kinds. Currently she is a huge presence at Last Thursday Alberta Street art hop. Donations will be used to restore this piece of history in order to support performance art in Portland, enriching our present with a piece of the past.
The Razzle Dazzle (March Fourth Marching Band Bus) has put on a lot of miles moving our favorite Marching Band across the continental U.S and Canada. Repairs and maintenance are needed to ensure that the Razzle Dazzle is a safe carrier of Portland's magical and inspirational March Fourth. The dance MUST go on!
