Are you in a band? Feel like getting an extra $3000? We thought that you might. Well this May, the Spirit Mountain Casino is hosting a Battle of the Bands competition — with $4500 is total cash prizes! No air guitar here, you need to bring your A-list talent to win this competition.

If you think that your band has what it takes to win it all, then here's what you need to do:

• First, practice. Then practice some more.
• Second, when you finish practicing, practice even more (seriously, there's going to be some stiff competition).
• Third, make a demo CD or DVD.
• Fourth, send that demo CD or DVD to Cathy Wright by May 15^th (details below).

We will also accept online links such as YouTube videos for demo material submission. Just email BOTB@spiritmtn.com with your contact info and a link so we can listen to your demo.

Of all of the entries, we'll pick a total of six bands to compete on Saturday, May 29, 2010 in the Spirit Mountain Event Center, with the top three bands receiving cash prizes!

Each competing band will have 15 minutes to perform before the audience. The bands will be judged on their stage presence, originality, musical abilities and audience response. Prizes are as follows:

1st place — $3000

2nd place — $1000

3rd place — $500

If selected, you will be contacted by a casino representative with further instructions. Please include the name of your primary contact, phone number, address and email address. Please do not call to inquire about selections.

For those of you that would like to come and enjoy a great show, the battle starts at 8pm, May 29th. It's a free event. There will also be a beer garden available for those over 21.

Due to the potential number of entries, we will not be returning any submitted materials.

(Note: You are not eligible for competition if you have performed at Spirit Mountain Casino after January 1, 2008.)
