Third Annual Doggie Palooza Celebrates All Things Dog

On Sunday, October 24 the World Forestry Center will host its third annual Doggie Palooza from 10am — 5pm. Visitors and their canine companions are invited to howl in delight as they visit with local pet vendors who will be sampling treats, giving training advice, and showing the latest canine fashions.
This special pet fair is the one day a year when dogs are allowed in the Discovery Museum where the annual Spot Magazine Cover Model Search will be held. Renowned photographer David Childs will be snapping candid photos of canine visitors. All photos will be entered into a drawing to be a 2011 cover model for Spot Magazine.
On the Central Plaza attendees can view a Halloween Fashion Show as dogs strut their stuff on the cat walk. Later visitors can enter their furry friends in the Pooch Parade where canines will compete in three categories: Most Creative Costume, Pet Owner Look-A-Like, and Best Pet Trick. Prizes from local pet shops will be awarded to the winners.
Owners and spectators alike can relax and enjoy a glass of wine or beer and partake of the seasonal menu offered by the Burgerville Nomad. Adventurous attendees can also go on Spot Walks, guided treks through Washington Park.
Doggie Palooza is sponsored by Bi-Mart, Willamette Week, Red Lion Hotels and Petfinder.com
The World Forestry Center is a 501(c)(3) non profit educational organization, located in Portland's beautiful Washington Park, whose mission is to educate about the world's forests and trees and environmental sustainability.
