The second night of The Motet's two-night stay at Mt. Tabor Theater is sure to be a cooker. Themed “The Best of Halloween,” The funky, dance grooves will wander through past Halloween sets of yore, picking and choosing the best covers the band has to offer.
The Motet is a world-class ensemble that whips audiences into a whirlwind using sheer impromptu force. The rhythms are spontaneous and textured, the beats hard driving. The band uses this energy to create a rapport between the audience and themselves rarely seen in today's world of manufactured rock. The Motet consecrates the ground on which dance music meets free-form improvisation.
If anyone in Portland needs another reason to don a costume, dance and drink all night, this is it.
