Calling all short films!! ( Music videos, Senior thesis projects, Stoner videos, Feature Excerpts, & Teasers, Embarrassing high school videos…etc.)
Local independent filmmakers are asked to submit short films (of ANY quality) to be rated by a jury of their peers & a panel of celebrity judges. In this 3-round + finals competition videos may be gonged & cut short if the audience or judges lose interest. Top 5 films from each round will advance to the Finals at the Hollywood Theatre in October. Contestants compete for $100 cash prize and a package from Picture This worth $1,000+.
Fun event that's a great opportunity for the local film community to hang out & network.
Proceeds to benefit Film Action Oregon (FAO), now in its 18th year of operation. FAO supports working artists producing independent film projects, educates youth in the art of filmmaking & animation, and presents a nationally-recognized films on 3 screens at the historic Hollywood Theatre.
VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Films must be at least 2 minutes long. All Video entries must be submitted on DVD, and include the following information: Title, Run time, Producer, Director, Submitter Contact information. $5 submission fee
Send submissions to Film Action Oregon, RE: Video Gong Show, 4122 NE Sandy Blvd., Portland, OR 97212 by August 27th.
All films will be screened by the organizers, and as many as possible will be played publically during the various rounds. Film Action Oregon reserves the right to exclude any film based on content, taste, technical difficulty.
