The 2016 Olympics will officially begin on 5 August 2016, when the legendary Maracanã Stadium hosts the opening ceremony, although the football tournament will start two days before. The football competition will be played in five co-host cities, as well as Rio, and the match schedule will be released soon. On 6 August, the day after the opening ceremony, the Games will get into full swing as 20 disciplines begin.
Following Olympic tradition, the swimming competitions will take place during the first week (6-13 August), with the athletics events starting on 12 August and continuing until 21 August, the day of the closing ceremony.

Bazi Bierbrasserie in partnership with the American Outlaws Portland Chapter (AOPDX), Widmer Brothers and Maletis Beverage continue the Summer of Soccer series with the Olympics including three (3) outdoor viewing parties to celebrate Soccer City USA.
As the official home of AOPDX, you can expect to catch every US Women’s National Team (USWNT) match on Bazi’s 114” HDTV with sound throughout the Olympics games. In addition, Bazi will be closing the street on August 12 (Quarter Finals), August 16 (Semi Finals), and August 19 (Gold and Bronze Medal matches). Guests are encouraged to bring their own camping chairs and enjoy the match inside and/or outside. These viewing parties are family friendly. Well behaved pets are also welcomed outdoors.
All other Olympics games (gymnastics, track and field, swimming, etc) will also be running daily starting Tuesday, August 3rd leading to the closing ceremonies on Sunday, August 21st. A special watch party for the opening ceremonies will also be held on Friday, August 4th starting at 4 PM.
